Super-luxurious four-seat convertible gets V12 power to rival the likes of Bentley and Rolls-Royce. Making its world premiere at the Los Angeles motor show this week, the Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet is built around the credentials of the S-class Cabriolet. The S650 Cabriolet will be made in limited numbers of just 300. Power for the S650 Cabriolet is courtesy of 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 producing 612hp and 1,000Nm of torque. But rather than getting the latest nine-speed automatic transmission being employed in some of Mercedes’ latest offerings, the open-top Maybach sticks to the older seven-speeder.
